Any news on Valencia as of yet?

Terrible luck for him and us. Sounds like it might have been pretty serious. What actually happened? I only had BBC text updates to go on as I'm on holiday.

Well this is slightly better news but I'll be much happier with two new strikers. I'm not convinced sakho can stay injury free all season.

West Ham United have received an update regarding Enner Valencia’s lower-leg injury.
The Hammers forward visited a specialist consultant on Monday morning to discover the extent of the problem he suffered during last Thursday’s UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg tie with Astra Giurgiu.
Head of Medical and Sports Science Stijn Vandenbroucke said the Ecuadorean is set to return to action in ten to 12 weeks.
“Enner visited the consultant on Monday morning, when we discussed the results of the scans he underwent on the injury last Friday,” said Vandenbroucke.
“The outcome is that there is now a very small chance that he will need an operation and that we instead hope to treat the injury to his fibula using conservative treatment, which we hope to start in three weeks.
“We will know for sure whether or not Enner will need an operation next week, but if everything goes to plan we hope that he will be available for selection again within ten to 12 weeks.
“Enner will spend the next three weeks in a walking boot and using crutches, after which we will start his rehabilitation.”
Valencia spent Monday with his teammates at Spire Roding Hospital – West Ham United’s official private hospital – where the squad underwent their annual pre-season screening, including visits to the dentist, optician and blood tests.

Wickham's a funny one. I thought he'd do well at Sunderland, but he was as prolific as Cole when you look at his STATS. I still think he might come good, and for 9m the Palace fans will expect him to do something.

Pardew is putting a solid team together. Not totally convinced by Wickham (esp at £9m) but with Zaha & Bolasie alongside and Cabaye feeding him who knows.
I think they will do better than last season which puts the pressure on us.
Like the way they slapped a £40m price tag on Bolasie and basically told everyone to fuck off.

Not too bad.... back same time as Carroll.
I think there are a couple of international breaks in that time as well, so shouldn't miss that much.
